Week 11 Highlights, Week 12 Printout, NOVEL QUIZ, Exam Scope, reading

Hi everyone!

In order to encourage students to do extracurricular reading, we will be having a reading competition every month were students must read at least 3 books that are over 80 pages. They must do a short book report for each book that they've read and have you (parents) sign it. I can't wait to read all about the books that they've read :)

Here's what happened this week:

  • For Journeys, A class finished lesson 10, Jose Born to Dance from the hardcover Journeys book and B class read about Maria Tallchief, a ballet dancer from their softcover books. We learned that dancers have to start working very hard at a young age.
  • For writing, both classes wrote about a villain that they're thankful that don't exist. Some said they're thankful dragons don't exist because dragons would set everything on fire!
  • For grammar, we took a quiz on unit 7 and 8 about possessive cases and forms.
  • For math, both classes continued to do math problems related to the area and perimeter of different figures.
  • For science, we continued to learn about forces.

  • Our 2nd Unit exam will be on November 24th and 25th. All students should have already glued the exam scope into their comm books but here is the E-version for your reference.
