Week 3 Highlights, week 4 printout (NO NOVEL QUIZ THIS WEEK)

 Hi everyone!

Here's what happened this week:

  • For writing, they completed a 3-4 paragraph essay about their favorite teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day. I encouraged them to apply vocabulary that they've learned from lessons 1-2 such as: mood, dream, example, comfort, recall, inspire, properly, and positive.
  • For reading, both classes completed L3 vocabulary and SC (softcover) Journeys.
  • For grammar, we finished unit 2 about definite and indefinite articles: a/an/the. I had them make a graphic organizer to differentiate when to use the correct article.
  • For math, we completed pages 9-13, 22-29. We learned how to round to the nearest 10 and nearest 100. We learned the following words in math: estimate, round, multiply/times, twice, mass, each.
  • For science, we started to learn about water.
