Week 8 Highlights, Week 9 Printout, and NOVEL QUIZ

 Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a good week. Here's what happened:

  • For reading, both classes completed Lesson 7 from their softcover Journeys book. We learned about how movies are made with green screens, editing, and filming from different angles to get the lighting right.
  • For writing, both classes completed a 3 paragraph opinion essay about what they think their teacher should wear for Halloween. We learned to use phrases such as 'in my opinion' and 'I think,' to express one's opinions about a certain topic.
  • For grammar, we completed Unit 5 about countable and uncountable nouns and also took a quiz.
  • For math, we learned about naming and measuring angles. Here are some new terms that we learned: ray, angle, vertex, degree, and protractor.
  • For science, we started Unit 15 about water. We are skipping the unit about air for this unit (just FYI).
